First, we have gotten a bit older and docking with wind or current had become tougher. Second, there was not enough room to install a through transom thruster without moving other components. "I recently purchased a 55’ Neptunus Cabrio 2006. It was my first larger boat weighing 55,000 lbs. I was wanting to have a solid stern thruster installed since it only came with a bow thruster. "System installed by the previous owner. I installed a new motor recently from the swim-step while the boat was in the water. Does the job and allows me to not have to have crew jump for the dock etc... much safer and better control of the boat which is a single-engine, inboard style. Might consider providing as an option, a 10-12-inch long cylindrical removable cover centered on the propellers to focus prop thrust to increase the power of thrust for units that are not submerged by much. A good system as far as ease of installation and cost."

"I had a 380 Sundancer before this boat, and had a stressful time driving it in the very beginning. I did some research and put the Sideshift Bow and Stern thrusters on. To be honest, after 3 seasons of driving it I got kind of spoiled with the level of control that it gave me – in any sized slip or windy conditions. When our family upgraded to the 48’ Sea Ray, it came with a bow thruster from the factory, but it didn’t have a Stern Thruster. I felt in my first windy situation that I was missing some of the control that I really wanted to have.
