Measurement Chart

There are 3 ways to mount your Sideshift Thruster to the stern.

  1. Standard Transom Mounted using the L-Bracket, with or without optional extensions
  2. Horizontal Transom Mounted (requires holes under the waterline)
  3. Swim platform mounted with optional extensions

Sideshift thrusters can be placed close to the hull, provided there are no obstacles between the thruster propellers and the side of the boat. In this case, an L-bracket is bolted to the transom, and the Sideshift thruster is bolted to the L-bracket. The L-Bracket installation provides good clearance around the thruster and is the preferred placement method for most boats with inboard engines. The top of the thruster propellers must be a minimum of 5 inches (12 cm) below the waterline, use the chart linked above to determine the correct extension bracket based on the platform to waterline distance.

For applications where obstacles on the transom are unavoidable, a swim platform mount may be possible. Use the chart linked above to determine the correct extension bracket based on the platform to waterline distance.

Where a transom or swim platform mount is not possible, the thruster can be mounted horizontally to the transom, eliminating the need for an additional bracket.

Overview

The ST350D Dual Stern Thruster System is perfect for larger yachts up to 70' in length with a maximum displacement of 35 tons. The ST350D is essentially two ST350 stern thrusters mounted to the port and starboard-side transom for strong balanced power in any docking situation. The units can also be mounted to the underside of a horizontal surface like a swim platform in cases where there are mounting obstacles on the transom.

The thrusters are controlled through a single wireless helm-mounted joystick or Sideshift wireless keyfob. No tunnel or motor inside the hull is required. All mounting holes are above the waterline. Providing an immediate response with our powerful water cooled 24V motors, the heavy-duty aluminum propellers quickly pull the boat into position with zero noise or vibration.

Saltwater proven, the thrusters are anode protected and finished in acrylic enamel paint over epoxy primer to prevent corrosion.

And for boats with existing bow thrusters, you can add our dual wireless joystick option for easy single-handed operation of both thrusters, providing true 360 degree control in any situation.
